Asian Women`s Volleyball Championship 2007

The 14th Asian women`s volleyball championship which starts today, 5th September, in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. In this tournament, the Asian Champion will qualify to the World Cup 2007 to be held in November, while the top 3 teams will qualify to the World Olympic Qualification tournament to be played next May in Japan.

There are 4 groups in the preliminary round, and the top 2 teams from each group will be advancing to the second round.

China--a team which finished 2nd in WGP 2007, and Japan are giant and are expected to meet in the final, while Kazakhstand, Chinese Taipei, South Korea and a host Thailand will have to battle excitingly for the other 3 teams for the Olympic qualification tournament.
