Japan overwhelming Chinese Taipei in straight sets

In Tokyo, 10th August, the first match of the 2nd week for WGP 2007 tournament was the battle of Asian volleyball; Japan-Chinese Taipei. Without 6 key players who have already retired after winning a broze medal in Doha Asian Games at the end of the year 2006, Chinese Taipei today seemed not to be able to resist the well-balance teamwork of the Japanese side. The match ended with the victory of Japanese ladies who played better in every field by 3-0 sets: 25-19, 25-17, 25-5.
Despite starting quite well with 8-7 and 16-15 leads, Chinese Taipei, when it came to rally, made more individual mistakes resulting in losing the first set with 25-19
In the 2nd set, Japan went on the field with confidence but it was Chinese Taipei who performed better at the beginning to lead 7-5. With the combination of Kimura, Kurihara,Takahashi, Araki and Shoji, Japanese side showed a spectacular volleyball winning the set by 25-17.
The 3rd set was somewhat a piece of cake when Japan went out on the field with superb form of both attacking and defensive. Japan led 8-2 and continued winning points by the service ace of Takahashi. After the 2nd TTO, Japan led 16-4 and substituted Tajimi instead of Shoji. Japan with a better defense won every rally point and led 23-4, 24-5. It was Tajimi who made the match point with a quick spike resulting in eventually overwhelming Chinese Taipei in straight sets.
